Well, I got you! In this article, I will introduce you to the top 5 MMORPGs for solo players, so you will know what to play without having to worry again!
1- Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2, to me, is a very special MMORPG. I have spent countless hours on it, and I can assure you that it is perfect for solo play. The game was built from the ground up with the solo players in mind, and that is what made it one of the best free-to-play MMORPGs on the market.
The main storyline can be completed 100% solo, and dungeons are not vital for your progress. You can simply enjoy leveling up and gearing up by completing the main storyline and other quests, but that’s not all!
You can also focus on unlocking collections, which will reward you with amazing items, even mounts. There is also a hidden puzzle system where you can spend hours trying to pass them all, and the best thing os that you can do all of these completely solo!
The only time players feel pushed to work with others is during raids, but even this has been built with solo players in mind, as it’s super easy to join a random group through the game’s excellent matchmaking.
2- Final Fantasy XIV
Final Fantasy XIV has an awesome, winding narrative full of deep lore and nods to other Final Fantasy games. And I am not sure if you are ready for that, but all the game’s content, including dungeons, can be played solo after the 6.5 patch.
How is that possible, you will wonder. Well, Final Fantasy XIV uses NPCs to fill the gap of other players so you can solo dungeons. Amazing right? I really wish this feature could become widely available to every MMORPG, since it’s not only perfect for solo players, but it could also help with waiting time for group players too.
Final Fantasy XIV offers a HUGE base story, so be prepared to fall in love with the environment around you as you are soloing this beautiful game.

Black Desert Online is completely different from the traditional MMORPGs. It doesn’t have any raids or dungeons, and its story is non-linear. Sounds messy, huh?
Well, instead of the usual MMORPG structure that we all know, the devs of Black Desert Online have taken the sandbox approach, allowing players to do what they want when they want. Because of that, many players tend to focus on PvE and PvP combat.
The game’s sandbox nature and emphasis on player freedom means most of its content is aimed at solo players. However, it is worth mentioning that some of its content is only available to group players, but that does not mess up with your progress if you play 100% solo.

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG that follows very strict rules when it comes to content. What I mean by that is that even if it has some solo content, dungeons and raids require players to team up.
Thankfully, this has changed after The War Within expansion pack. This expansion features story-based, solo versions of its dungeons, which allow solo players to play through them with NPCs.
The rewards are not as great as if you would run them with a group, but hey! At least they add some solo content for us loners, and let’s hope that they will add more solo features in the future.
