The Blood of Dawnwalker is an upcoming dark fantasy action role-playing game developed by Rebel Wolves and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The highly anticipated RPG promises to deliver an unforgettable dark fantasy experience, as it has the same game director as Witcher 3, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. So the expectations are really high!
Gameplay
The Blood of Dawnwalker is described as a single-player open-world dark fantasy RPG with a strong focus on story and narrative. With no official gameplay, the information we hold for the game is currently limited.
You will be playing as Coen, a young man who is transformed into a Dawnwalker. But what is a Dawnwalker you will ask, it is a mix of a human and a vampire who is constantly treading the line between day and night.
The game’s main quest occurs over 30 in-game days and nights, involving protagonist Coen aiming to save his family. Between the 30-day and night periods, Coen must decide whether to save his family or seek revenge and destroy anyone else who gets in the way. Another interesting thing about the protagonist is that he will have different skills, abilities, and story outcomes depending on the time of day.
It is important to keep in mind, that completing quests will move the in-game time forward, but this will be communicated to players in-game.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world game, although exploration does not advance the in-game time, allowing players to explore freely without pressure.
Players can also decide to make allies with those who share Coen’s desire to bring down the vampires, but not everyone’s agenda will line up with him.
Storyline
The Blood of the Dawnwalker is set in a gothic, fictional 14th-century kingdom called Vale Sangora, located in the Carpathian Mountains. With Eastern European influences crafting an authentic and eerie setting, players explore a richly detailed world filled with supernatural creatures.
The continent has been ravaged by the worst of a plague that would come to be known as The Black Death. All this misery is the ideal ground for the reappearance of vampires, who emerge from the darkness to claim their freedom.
The protagonist Coen, attempts to save his plague-stricken sister, Lunka, from the human authorities who want to execute her. The arrival of Brencis and his fellow vampires, makes the guards dispatch and spare everyone’s lives, while Brencis heals Lunka. But their promise of protection comes at a terrible price as freedom is exchanged for servitude.
BONUS INFO: Brencis, an ancient vampire, is the primary antagonist in the game. He has seized control of Vale Sangora and under his rule, the vampires imposed a blood tax on every human citizen.
When is The Blood of Dawnwalker release date?
No official release date has currently been announced for The Blood of Dawnwalker.
But the gameplay reveals will arrive this summer and we can’t be more excited about that!
