Developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was one of my most anticipated games of the year back in 2022, and one that I stick with until this moment. But is it worth playing in 2025?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is still alive and kicking, with active players spending hours upon hours playing the game and leveling up. With an action-packed experience for both new and returning players, this is by far one of the most enjoyable Call of Duty titles to this day.
As of this moment of writing, I’ve played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II for over 500 hours, based on my Steam account, and to be honest, I still haven’t bored playing it. Apart from some maps that I still don’t understand why they keep them, the game is always full of players, even at the lowest peak hours.

Unlocking and upgrading all of your weapons to their highest levels is far from easy, and it takes lots of time and good skills.
You can also play Warfare whenever you feel you want something different, but the different online modes are enough to keep you busy, whether you’re looking for quick and extensive battles in small maps, team deathmatch in medium-sized maps, or even in large maps with over 32 players, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has it all.
So is it worth playing? Yes, absolutely!
