The Sims 4 has finally given us what plant-loving, fantasy-obsessed Simmers have been manifesting for years. Fairies are back, and they’ve brought an entire lush, magical world with them.
The new Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack drops us into Innisgreen. In this place, the trees are tall, the rivers sparkle, and even the gnomes have a complicated political history.
Fairy Sims
If you’re picturing fairies as purely decorative sparkly things, think again. These tiny-but-mighty beings have Emotional Energy that fuels their powers. Feeling joyful? Your fairy can boost plant growth or heal Sims’ moods. Feeling salty? Well… your neighbor’s crops might mysteriously wither. Oops!
The best part? Fairies aren’t locked to one aesthetic. They can be mischievous tricksters, serene healers, or chaotic neutral leaf enthusiasts. Your gameplay, your chaos.
New Skills

The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature is shaking things up with two brand-new skills: Apothecary and Natural Living. Because who doesn’t want to be a potion-brewing, nature-loving Sim?
Apothecary lets your Sims channel their inner wizard by mixing up potions, remedies, and maybe even a lucky charm or two. Forget the doctor, your Sim’s got this covered!
On the other hand, the Natural Living skill is basically the Sim version of “roughing it.” Baths in muddy ponds? Check. Foraging for snacks in the wild? Double check. Sleeping under the stars (mosquitoes not included)? Absolutely.
It’s all about ditching modern comforts and embracing the great outdoors, with a little magic sprinkled in, of course.
The Balance & Luck Systems
In The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature, the Balance & Luck systems introduce a dynamic gameplay that influences your Sim’s daily life, from their well-being to their success in various activities.
Balance is basically your Sim’s emotional mood ring; keeping it steady means they’re happy and healthy. When your Sim’s feeling good and taking care of their needs, they perform better at everything.
But if your Sim gets stuck in a funk for too long, that balance tips over into Imbalance. And trust me, that’s when things get messy: their needs drop faster, learning new skills feels like wading through molasses, and they’re more likely to catch some funky ailments. Not fun.
Now, onto Luck, the game’s invisible wildcard. Luck can boost or bust your Sim’s day, affecting how quickly they pick up skills, how tasty their cooking turns out, how well their career goes, and even how lucky they are when foraging for treasures.
There are three luck levels your Sim can have: Good Luck (the jackpot!), Ordinary Luck (meh, just average), and Bad Luck (someone call the unlucky police). Keeping your Sim balanced can help tip the scales toward good fortune, because who doesn’t want their Sim’s stars to align?
Note
Luck resets daily at 2 AM
Innisgreen And The Great Gnome Wars

The world of Innisgreen is basically what you get if Glimmerbrook and Henford-on-Bagley had a magical love child. Think rolling meadows, glowing forests, secret ponds, and… drama. Yep, even garden gnomes have their own soap opera, thanks to the legendary Great Gnome Wars.
Way back when, Mother Nature was running the show with her trusty sidekick, Spruce Almighty. Together, they created gnomes to keep the natural world in check. But when the non-magical Sims started geeking out on tech, Spruce felt totally betrayed. So, he unleashed his gnome army to kick the techies out.
Fairies weren’t having any of it and jumped in to defend the Sims. Things got so heated that it turned into the epic Great Gnome Wars. Eventually, Mother Nature had to step in, and she wasn’t messing around. She grounded the gnomes by turning them into garden statues until fairy magic wakes them up again.
Oh, and plot twist: Mother Nature and Spruce? They’re divorced now. Spruce is still salty about it. Today, that ancient drama spills into your gameplay. Whether you’re waking up the Great Gnome statue, bribing these pint-sized troublemakers, or accidentally making them your mortal enemies.
Enchanted by Nature is a breath of fresh air. Between the fairy powers, potion brewing, and a world full of wonderfully bizarre lore, it’s a must-have for fantasy-loving players. Just don’t forget to feed your fairy. I learned the hard way that wings do not equal self-sufficiency.
What about you? Are you joining Team Fairy, siding with the Gnome High Council, or just here for the mushroom houses? Drop your Enchanted by Nature stories in the comments, and let’s swap magical mayhem tales.
