I’ve created an account and a character, checked all the customization options, got disconnected, played through the first minutes of the game, and here’s the first part – in case you want to check it out before downloading it.
You can watch the video above, but here’s what I’ve said throughout the whole time (although it has subtitles):
HELLOOO Norpaners, and welcome to another video! I’m Panos, and today we’re diving headfirst into Throne and Liberty. Now, before you ask, “Hey, Panos, are you really going to review the game, while so many people have already done that?” Well, the answer is no. Why? Because, honestly, I know about as much as your average random guy who joins the party, just for the loot, and knows nothing about it, killing everyone in the group as they proceed.
So yeah, no, no reviews for now. But hey, I’ve watched a couple of videos on YouTube, the game looks absolutely sick, and let’s be real, I am coming from Aion and their servers are actually emptier than a freaking Cafe at 4:00 AM. So yeah, why not give Throne and Liberty a shot, right? It looks like the “next big thing”, but we’ll see we’ll see.
So… Here’s the plan:
- We’ll check out the game.
- Create and customize our character, because that’s always the best part, let’s be honest.
- And maybe… Just maybe do a quest or two – we’ll see as we proceed.
Maybe I like it, maybe I don’t. So let’s start the game and see how it goes.
Cinematic playing…
Well that cinematic didn’t teach me anything. Like, at all. Anyway, we have the option to choose between a male and a female character. Ummm.. Both look great but I’m going with female. And if you’re going to ask me why, well that’s because if I’m going to spend hundreds of hours staring at someone’s back I’d rather stare at a woman’s back and not some dudes. You know? Priorities! It’s also a strategic move, I mean whenever I play a guy in games, people assume I’m good at PVP. This way I lower their expectations right from the start. So.. Let’s move on and create our female character.
Let me say that when it comes to customizing your characters, I expect good stuff from NCSoft to be honest. They have nailed it in the past, and I think they can do it again. so let’s start with the appearance settings, appeare, appearances, appearance, app, app, appearance?
Now that I can move on with my life, let’s start with the face.
And I see there are a lot of options here, and they look pretty nice, too.
And they also have this thing.. which helps you, make the shape.. I guess? I mean, whatever, moving on..
Frackles.. Should we add some freckles?
No, not this time.
But I will add some scarves because for some reason I always do in my players. I’m always adding some scares, I don’t know why I like them.
This looks really nice too.
I think I’m going to go with this one. Yeah.

They don’t have a big selection of eyes but.. Oh, those one looks..

And uh.. The thing about it is, I loved it because of Aion.
And on Aion you could.. You could choose from so many different hairs, and I see we can do the same here too.

Many of them, look really similar to Aion..

And here the outfits! Let’s go with something simple so we can mess around with the body.

This transition from morph to being human again, and, doing the skills, completing the skills you know? That looked pretty amazing, the effects are amazing!

My character doesn’t have a voice?

Our characters should… Should at least have their own voices man.
And I think the… the sound, the sound is out of sync with their mouth?

So here we have the… Ummm… Quality Settings, which are set to medium.
Why medium man?
I mean, I want them high!

Chromatic Aberration, Motion Blur, Depth of Field.
Some, some may want to display those two things, like the Depth of Field and Motion Blur, especially if they get dizzy.
Lens Flare? I don’t want Lens Flare.

I think I can play it in high graphics without having it lagging that much.

Even if you lower the graphics back to medium.
I mean, I guess I’m gonna, I’m gonna choose high, and then restart the game and see how it goes.

After restarting the game I was able to play it with high graphics, but this will be the end of this video.
It’s already late, and we saw how we can create our characters, what kind of options do we get, how the skills and special effects look like, and as as of now it looks really good.
Ummm, I won’t say much, I’m gonna play it more, see how it goes, I’m going to record the next videos, but if you want to see the next part, just say it in the comments and.. yeah why not? Maybe we finish playing it like, going to the maximum level that you can get in Throne and Liberty, and see how it goes.

I shot these wallpapers, they’re pretty good, the game has its own photo mode feature which you can use to take wallpapers. They are all in 4k for ultrawide screens.
