In Batman: Arkham Origins – Cold, Cold Heart, the mission at GothCorp centers around Batman investigating an attack by Mr. Freeze on GothCorp Industries. This DLC expands on the story of Mr. Freeze’s origins and motivations, while Bruce Wayne dons the new XE (Extreme Environment) suit to battle Mr. Freeze’s chilling technology.
At GothCorp, Batman discovers that Mr. Freeze is targeting Ferris Boyle, CEO of the company. The storyline explores Freeze’s tragic backstory, where his wife, Nora, is in cryogenic stasis due to an incurable illness, and Freeze resorts to criminal measures to save her. Boyle, representing corporate greed, is shown to have betrayed Freeze, which drives much of the conflict.
In this mission, Batman must confront waves of thugs, solve environmental puzzles involving ice, and ultimately face off against Mr. Freeze. The key focus is on stealth, combat, and using Batman’s new suit and gadgets to navigate through ice-covered environments.
During the GothCorp section in Cold, Cold Heart DLC, many players found themselves stuck inside a place where the grappling hook simply didn’t work. This means that every player is prevented from progressing into the story, but thankfully, there are a few workarounds.
The easiest way is by watching the video that I attached to this article. I uploaded that video 10 years ago, and there are still many people who keep commenting that it helped them fix the issue. As of this moment, it worked beautifully for me and all of the people that I know of, which is good because it’s always working.
In the video, I am showing you how you can use the easiest method to bypass the bug, which is gliding off the ledge just below the area you are trying to grapple to. There’s a small platform that you can land on, and then climb up manually – and it works every time.
You can also restart the game or checkpoint, and it may reset the bug and allow you to proceed, but that didn’t work most of the times that I’ve tried it. Another way that many other players have already reported in various online forums is by repeatedly pressing the action key (LMB on PC). Yet again, this won’t always work, but it may just do the trick if none of the two ways above work.
